1960's Vintage Designer Suit 3 pc. by Adolphe Zelinka Size M
Details:
An amazingly well made Vintage Designer Suit by Adolphe Zelinka from the estate of a former beauty queen with impeccable taste. This elegantly tailored suit is vibrant with shades of green apple, yellow, white & pale turquoise. No fabric label but it is beautiful material ~ medium weight with nice sheen ~ probably a synthetic blend.
The boxy cropped jacket is double breasted with round collar, darted bust & 6 bold round white buttons. There are 2 hidden snaps under the collar to hold everything properly in place. Expertly tailored & lined with chartreuse yellow acetate.
The sleeveless silk blouse has vertical & horizontal darts for proper fit. It closes in the back with 5 matching fabric buttons (although 2 are missing). Scoop collar with attached "scarf" ties on each side to make a perfect bow or knot. Unlined, pressed pinked seams.
The A line skirt has a metal side zipper with button waist. Features front & rear hip darts for shapely fit. Each hip has an additional fold over pleat which allows for extra leg room & a little flare as it flows towards the hem. Also expertly tailored & lined with chartreuse yellow acetate.
Label: Adolphe Zelinka Inc. ~ New York. Store label is also stitched into the jacket. This came from Samuel Spigel which was a high end department store in the Roanoke Valley.
Quality is Superb. Condition is Excellent. The only reason this did not receive a mint rating is due to the following: The blouse is missing 2 buttons. You will need to have these completely replaced since they are covered with matching fabric (unless you are creative) to wear the blouse without the jacket. It also has a tear right at the seam under the left arm ~ an easy repair. There are also a couple of areas on the skirt with very faint storage marks that should come out with a couple of proper cleanings. Please note that this suit was dry cleaned and then put into storage for some time. These are not stains that were left untreated. Despite these issues this is a stunning high end suit. No odors, fabric weakness, etc. This would be priced much higher if not for the above mentioned issues.
